I am in shock at how many words Jackson can say now, at only 14 months. I didn't expect him to start talking until he was two or so. Now pretty much everything he says are things only Jon and I understand but I am learning his language and it is so nice to be able to communicate with him! I am also amazed at his comprehension. I will say things like, "where are your pants" and Jackson will look down at his legs. I will ask Jackson to give me something or go get something or do something and a lot of times he will. I am in shock at what he understands. He is also a master of pointing and whining and is pretty persistent until we figure out what he wants. Here are some of his words:
banana- nana (he says this every time he sees a banana and repeats it over and over. He also asks for a banana for breakfast most days and I always feel terrible if we are ever out of bananas
shoe- sssss
sock- ssssooo
hot- hah
Mama- Maaa Maaa (usually drawn out and whiney, especially if he needs something)
Dada- Dada or Dah
Diaper- di
Icicle- I swear to you he says this. I have it on video. It started out as him babbling all the time and me thinking that his babbles sounded like icicle. So it got to the point where when he would babble I would say icicle and eventually he was able to mimic it back to me. He says it like "IIII- ikle"
More- Jackson can't say this work but he signs it
Jackson- He has tried to say his name a few times, it comes out as "Ja"
Uh Oh- Uh Uh
I probably already blogged some of these, sorry!
