11 months

Well here it is, the last month of the year and the last month before Jackson turns one. This year has felt long because of all of the changes and also has flown by quickly. I can't believe how much Jackson is growing up!

Jackson is down to nursing just once a day now, usually in the middle of the night. I had him down to nursing 2-3 times a day but with us both sick on the trip, he got down to once a day which is good, it feels like it is time. I need to fully ween him but I keep putting it off because I get a little sad about it.

Jackson is still becoming more and more picky about what he eats. He still wants to eat about every 2 hours but eats less than he used to at each sitting. Jackson is doing well with the sippy cut but still can't hold it and drink by himself because it is hard for him to tip it up since he never used a bottle. He drinks best from a straw and a cup so we bought him a big boy water bottle with a straw.

Jackson is still holding onto everything and is getting faster and faster at walking like this. He wants to walk so badly and we have gotten him to take maybe a step or two while going back and forth between us but he mostly just dives and laughs. He knows the concept of walking but lacks the strength, coordination, and courage to do it on his own. He is so smart and catches onto things really fast so I know he will walk soon and I am in no hurry since I know it will be even tougher to keep up with him once he walks.

Overall Jackson has been napping great and seeping good at night. I'm hoping to wean him this month and hoping that will help him start sleeping longer at night without waking.

Jackson babbles and points at everything. He loves to wave but only when he feels like it. Overall he is happy, curious, and full of energy. He is not much of a snuggler but he loves being close to us and often sits in our laps or climbs on our legs. He never stays close for long but he seems to like checking in with us often. He will play, come sit on our laps for a minute and then go back to playing. He will do this on and off for a long time.

Jackson loves all things cooking and reading. He will sit and play forever with kitchen tools and if he is playing in his room alone he is always surrounded by books. I love hiding and watching to see what he does. He will flip through the books and "read" them. I love his love of reading and cooking. If we are cooking he loves to watch what we are doing and always tries to help. He is in such a fun stage, we love our baby boy!

Stats: We will measure at the doctor next month!

Jon told Jackson to snuggle the giraffe.

he was obviously so tired for these pictures. His eyes are so heavy looking!

Jackson was really good with our tree and only touched it a little, he mostly just liked looking at it. I was so proud of him! Although, he loved everyone else's trees and didn't leave them alone.

he actually fed himself some rice! I was shocked.
