10 months

Jackson has changed so much!! This month has been full of standing and walking while holding on to couches, doors, toys, people, etc... Jackson understands how to walk and wants to do it but honestly his legs just aren't ready. He still has very baby type feet and legs so he walks awkwardly but he is getting stronger everyday. I think he will walk before his first birthday, I'm guessing around Christmas time. Jackson still has a peg leg crawl most if the time but is faster than ever. He can crawl over anything and is always adamant about playing with cords and electric outlets. Jackson still loves all of the same things but has become a pickier eater. He also is becoming more toddler like in his little fits where he throws his body around on the floor. Usually this is just for a few minutes around nap or bed time. He is normally so happy and content. He continues to babble and growl more and more everyday. Jackson has been a pretty good sleeper and usually wakes up once to nurse still. He still loves waking up for the day by 5am, 6 if we are lucky but that is so rare. He is into everything lately, as some of these pictures will show.

Jackson's new thing lately is crawling away during diaper changing or clothes changing. He smiles and thinks it is a game and looks around to see your reaction. We can't help but play along because it is so cute! Although it can get frustrating if I am in a hurry. I usually don't fight him to get dressed unless we have to go somewhere. And he is normally really good about getting dressed.

He also loves when I crawl around and chase him and say "I'm going to get you!" He smiles so big, shrieks, and crawls away fast. It is my favorite game to play with him. Jon and I also love to take turns hiding and running around with Jackson playing peek a boo. Jackson gets so excited every time.

Jackson loves getting his hands and face washed and sometimes tries to stick his feet in the sink too. He loves if we pat his lips with our hands when we wash his face so he can make funny noises. He also loves laughing at burping and farting and we of course are so proud of this. It is so cute!

Stats: We didn't weigh or measure him since it is super inaccurate anyway. I would guess he is around 18 pounds.

Happy Halloween!

This guy is feeling better but we stayed home for Halloween so only Jon and I got to enjoy this cute elephant.

A Date

Saturday afternoon Jon and I dropped off Jackson at a sitters house and had us a short date. The plan was to head to the lake and skip rocks but it was sooooo windy and cold and there were no rocks to be found. So we walked around and played on the dock which was shaking from the wind and it felt like we might fall in. We did get a little wet from the water splashing. Then we headed to get frozen yogurt and the girl there said we were the second customers she had come in on her shift. It was empty I guess because everyone had already eaten too much Halloween candy and because it was so cold. It was nice to get out with just the two of us.

Poor Sick Dude

Jackson has been fighting a fever for the past two days. It has gone as high as 102.7. It has been so hard to watch him suffer. The first day he was lethargic and slept on and off all day. He needed to be in our arms most of the time but never cried or complained. He had little interest in food the first day. Our friend came over to give him a blessing with Jon. Sadly we had to miss the ward trunk or treat. Jon went for part of it to debut his Green Chili. Today he was a little more playful and ate better but still had a fever and looked out of it. It reminds  me of when he had RSV and I hate it. I wish I could trade him places. We love how cuddly he has been but we want our energetic healthy boy back.
